OFFICIAL NOTICE
SUBJECT: INCREASE IN UNLICENSED TOASTER ACTIVITY
TO: ALL K GROUP OFFICE MANAGERS
The Department of Appliance Oversight and Intervention wishes to inform all Office Managers that K GROUP has observed a significant increase in unlicensed toaster activity across multiple facilities.
While the majority of toaster operations remain lawful and within established compliance parameters, recent audits have identified several instances of unauthorized toasting behavior.
As a result, all managers are directed to review the guidance below and ensure immediate compliance.

BACKGROUND
On the morning of [REDACTED], a routine appliance census identified twenty-seven (27) licensed toasters.
By the afternoon, thirty-four (34) toasters were present.
No procurement records exist for the additional units.
More concerningly, several employees insisted the new toasters had "always been there."
This statement has been forwarded to the Department of Historical Accuracy for review.

SIGNS OF UNLICENSED TOASTER ACTIVITY
Managers should remain alert for the following indicators:
Toasters appearing in previously toaster-free locations
Unexplained bread consumption
Excessive crumb generation
Toast production exceeding projected demand
Toasters operating without visible power sources
Employees referring to a toaster by name
Employees referring to themselves as "Assistant Regional Toast Coordinators"
Any combination of the above should be considered suspicious.

PROHIBITED ACTIVITY
Employees are expressly forbidden from:
Constructing unauthorized toaster networks
Allowing toasters to participate in staff meetings
Granting administrative access to toasters
Recognizing a toaster as a direct supervisor
Referring to a toaster as "The Chosen One"
Entering into verbal agreements with a toaster
Particular attention should be paid to the final item.
The Legal Department has confirmed that such agreements remain difficult to enforce but surprisingly difficult to invalidate.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
All operational toasters must possess:
✓ Valid Appliance Registration
✓ Current Crumb Certification
✓ Annual Heating Element Inspection
✓ Signed Declaration of Non-Sentience
The absence of any of the above shall result in immediate review.

RECENT INCIDENT SUMMARY
The following events remain under investigation:
INCIDENT 447-A:
A breakroom toaster successfully reserved a conference room.
INCIDENT 447-C:
Three toasters were discovered arranged in a triangle around a bagel.
INCIDENT 447-F:
An employee reported receiving performance feedback from a toaster.
The feedback was reportedly accurate.
INCIDENT 447-K:
A toaster submitted a vacation request.
Human Resources approved it accidentally.

RESPONSE PROCEDURES
Should an unlicensed toaster be encountered:
Remain calm.
Do not challenge the toaster's authority, regardless of how confidently it presents itself.
Record its location.
Determine whether the toaster is aware it is unlicensed.
Contact Appliance Oversight immediately.
Under no circumstances should personnel ask the toaster what it wants.
The answer is rarely helpful.

FINAL REMARKS
K GROUP remains committed to maintaining a safe and compliant appliance environment.
Most toasters are law-abiding.
Some are merely confused.
A small number have begun exhibiting initiative.
Those are the ones we are concerned about.
