It has come to the attention of K Group Leadership that, in several recent matters, teams have shared information or coordinated too freely with local police officers without proper authorization. I need not state the severe danger this poses to the public at large, due to the nature of the threats this group handles.
This memorandum is to remind all group personnel that involvement with local law enforcement must be kept to a minimum unless otherwise directed.
DO NOT SHARE CASE FILES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
As far as the public is concerned, we are merely FBI agents. This facade must be maintained, at all costs.
Avoid joint questioning or field activity with local police unless the need is immediate and unavoidable. If approached by local officers requesting information, refer them to your Handler before answering any questions. Always maintain the integrity and independence of K Group work.
I trust the nature of this message is heard, understood, and heeded by all personnel. Thank you.
